Justice Mridula Mishra rejected his plea for bail on conclusion of arguments by Shahabuddin's counsel Y V Giri and government counsel Shyameshwar Dayal who vehemently opposed the bail and said prosecution was ready to complete the trial expeditiously.

A total of six cases were registered against Shahabuddin after police recovered stolen vehicles, country-made pistols, cartridges of foreign make, foreign currencies, wireless sets and AK 47 rifle and also detected illegal electricity connection during the raid on his house.

Shahabuddin has also been charged with sedition for allegedly possessing catridges and weapons of foreign make, foreign correncies and wirless sets.
