The attack comes a day after Iraqi PM-designate Nouri Maliki said he had nearly completed the task of forming a new government of national unity.

The gunmen ambushed the bus with employees of the local electricity firm and "sprayed it with bullets, killing 11 people," a police officer was quoted by the AFP news agency as saying.
