(TNA) - A labour union leader was attacked and injured by three unidentified men before dawn Saturday after attending a rally aimed at ousting caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra at the Government House.
Police said 43-year-old Kittichai Saisa-ard, deputy chief of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) labour union, was attacked by the three men in front of the Royal Hotel near Sanam Luang, where he is staying.
Stressing that they would continue demanding the resignation of Mr. Thaksin as prime minister, Maj. Gen. Chamlong Srimuang, a leader of the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) which has led anti-Thanksin demonstrations, said the caretaker prime minister should sacrifice by quitting his post before the situation deteriorates further.
